The Virgin Valley High School Lady Dawgs showed their mettle Wednesday, October 15, coming back from a two-set deficit to win the match three games to two.

The Bulldogs lost the first two matches by scores of 18-25 and 17-25 before winning three consecutive sets 25-21, 25-18 and the final set 25-12 for their seventh winning match in a row. The Bulldogs haven’t tasted defeat since they lost to Boulder City 3-0 on September 23.

The win gave the Bulldogs sole possession of second place in 1-A Sunrise League play with an 8-2 record. The Dawgs trail the 10-0 Eagles by two matches.

The Bulldogs host frontrunner Boulder City in a crucial rematch Tuesday, October 21 at 6 p.m.

“We finally started playing in the third match,” said Bulldog Coach Lori Barnum. “We had 55 digs in an all-around effort. It was the same for our offense as we had 28 kills as a team and 10 aces. A big shout out to our parents and especially the student section, they really contributed to our win.”
