Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Sept. 14 – Sept. 20, 2014.

Sept. 14:

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence, for a request of a welfare check on an elderly male. The male was found to be in need of medical attention. Mesquite Fire & Rescue responded and transported to the Hospital.

Civil Dispute: Officer responded to a verbal dispute on Riverside Rd between a male and female, concerning visitation issues with the children. Both parties were advised to take care of the visitation issue’s with the courts. The male left the area.

Suicidal Person: Officers responded on an attempted suicide on Cottonwood Dr. Individual voluntarily checked into hospital.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a trespass violator. The individual was issued a citation for Trespass Violation and released with a court date.

Sept. 15:

Noise Disturbance: An officer responded to a Carrara Ct residence in reference to a noise complaint.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Police received a report of a person sleeping in the grass, along the side of Mesquite Blvd. Male subject was located and found to be ok. Male walked to his residence.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to a civil situation on Eucalyptus Ln. A report was taken as a matter of information, concerning services and materials paid for, but not delivered.

Civil Dispute: Officer spoke with a male subject on N Sandhill Blvd, reference a verbal dispute, that had happened two days prior. The male requested the report as a matter of record, pending any further problem with the other subject.

Agency Assistance: Officer took a courtesy report for another agency from a victim traveling in our area.

Alarm: Officers responded to an alarm at a Via Ventana Dr residence and everything was found secure.

Agency Assistance: Mesquite Police received a request from the Division of Child Services, out of Salt Lake City, Utah to conduct a check for a male juvenile who may be in the City of Mesquite on Eucalyptus Ln. The juvenile was not located.

Welfare Check: Officer conducted a welfare check on a Riverside Rd residence without power. All parties living at the residence were found to be okay and are working on getting the power bill paid.

Sept. 16:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to Mesa Blvd for a traffic accident on private property with no injuries. Parties had already exchanged information.

Controlled Substance Problem: Found on high school property a small amount of controlled substance. Unknown at this time person responsible.

Theft: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd convenience store for a report of a counterfeit bill, used for a purchase. Evidence is being collected and an investigation started.

Identification Check: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a male for minor gambling.

Animal complaint: Officers received a call at the shelter about 2 dogs running loose near 1st South St. They responded to the area and found both dogs.

Sept. 17:

Trespassing: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespassed male.  The male was arrested and transported to Mesquite Detention Center.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at W Mesquite Blvd & Thistle St. Open containers were found in the vehicle. The passenger and driver were both cited and released.

Sept. 18:

Threatening: A male subject on Hardy Way requested to file a report for threat of life. The officer received the information and completed the report for a matter of record.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a male on Hillside Dr with an active felony warrant. The male was arrested and escorted to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Theft: Officer took a report of theft of a personal items and the investigation is ongoing.

TPO Violation: An officer responded to a Desert Willow Ln residence in reference to a protective order violation. An incarcerated subject was issued a citation for a TPO Violation.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to the parking lot of an E Pioneer Blvd convenience store reference a disorderly male.  The male was identified and arrested for breach of peace.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of a vandalized vehicle on Turtleback Rd.

Sept. 19:

Juvenile Problem: Officers were informed of a juvenile problem at Hughes Middle School on W Hafen Ln.

Sexual Assault: An E Pioneer Blvd casino reported an alleged sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours. The investigation resulted in the victim requesting this incident be documented as a matter of record and declined any further involvement.

Citizen Assist: Officer contacted a Thompson Dr resident who had questions regarding legal issues.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a theft of tools from the back of a motor vehicle at a N Sandhill Blvd grocery store parking lot. This is an ongoing investigation.

Sept. 20:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a reported burglary in progress on Aztec Circle. Two subjects were contacted and arrested for trespass and property damage based in investigation.

Alarm: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business for an alarm, employee error.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to the police station to meet with a citizen wanting to report an incident that occurred in another jurisdiction. Citizen was instructed to contact the appropriate department.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino in reference to an intoxicated female who lost her car.

Citizen Assist: Officer assisted motorist on W Pioneer Blvd with directions.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to lobby in reference to a citizen assist.

Agency Assistance: Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speed on W Riverside Rd. Vehicle drove to residence due to spouse having major health issues. Ambulance was on scene. No traffic citations were issued.
