Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 31 – Sept. 6, 2014.

 

Aug. 31:

Minor Gambling: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor gambling.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino in reference to an intoxicated male.

Person On Foot: An adult male was contacted on W Pioneer Blvd holding a sign asking for money.  He was issued a warning for panhandling.

Abuse/Neglect: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd restaurant for a report of abuse to a small child, while inside the restaurant. All involved parties were interview and the report abuse was unfounded.

Threatening: Officer responded to a Sun Valley Dr residence to speak with a male, reference a civil, child visitation issue. Officer has previously spoken with the female concerning the same issue. Both parties explained the family Court process.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to Tortuga Way for a citizen assist in reference to a lost cell phone.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd grocery store reference an unknown problem. Officer’s arrived, and store management requested to trespass a male subject from the premises. The male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, and was arrested.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence for a report of domestic violence. The suspect had left the area. The victim was checked by medical. Investigation is ongoing.

Trespassing: Police responded to a trespass violator at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. One adult male was issued a citation for trespassing and released with a court date.

Sept. 1:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a minor traffic accident in a E Pioneer Blvd casino parking lot.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a report of a garage door open on Heather Ct, with the residents out of town. Residence was checked and found to be ok, door was closed and owner notified.

Reckless Driver: Officer responded to a report of reckless driving by an adult female who was visibly upset. Contact was made with the female who was parked on private property and had been in a verbal argument.

Disorderly Conduct: Officer responded to repair shop on Hafen Lane, for a verbal dispute between an employee and customer. Customer met with the business owner and solved the problem.

Traffic Stop: Officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violation. Two passengers were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and the driver was issued traffic citations.

Wanted Person: An officer conducted a traffic stop on I15 SB on a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was later discovered the driver had an active felony warrant and was arrested.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to the Bunkerville Bridge to assist Nevada Highway Patrol with a non-injury traffic collision. NHP was diverted to another accident. Mesquite completed collision paper work.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers received reports of a reckless driver on W First South St. Officers located the vehicle and the adult male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. A juvenile passenger was issued a citation for minor consumption of alcohol and released with a court date.

Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to a theft from vehicle at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. A report was taken for the incident.

Sept. 2:

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business and took a report of telephone harassment. Information concerning the harassment was obtained and an investigation has been started.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business in reference to a citizen assist.

Trespassing: Officer Responded to a W Mesquite Blvd Casino for a report of a trespass violator. The violation was verified and the offender was cited and released with a court date.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Falcon Glenn Dr residence in reference to a theft.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a Kelkim St residence and took an informational report on an attempted, unsuccessful Fraud scam. Report was informational only.

Agency Assistance: Officer received a report of a possible fraudulent use of a credit card and a written statement was gathered.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer responded to a W Hafen Ln business for a suspicious comment made to an employee.

Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to Mesquite Mental Health on N Willow St for a suspicious telephone call.

Wanted Person: Detectives with the Mesquite Police Department contacted an adult male at W Pioneer Blvd & Turtleback Rd who had a local felony warrant. The male was arrested for the warrant.

Controlled Substance Problem: Detectives with the Mesquite Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation at W Hafen Ln & Pheasant Dr. The four adult occupants were arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Sept. 3:

Fraud: Officer responded to an E Sierra Vista Circle residence on a reported fraud.  Officer received a statement from the victim and a report was taken.

Found Property: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd hotel on a report of found property.  Officer received one handgun which was placed into evidence for safe keeping until the owner is located.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to the parking lot of a W Mesquite Blvd business on a report of a property damage accident.  There was no information available on the suspect vehicle.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a W Old Mill Rd park on a report of a property damage accident. Officer obtained statements and a report was taken.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle.  A report was taken.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officers responded to an intoxicated person on Riverside Rd. The subject was an underage adult female who was subsequently arrested for minor consumption of alcohol.

Sept. 4:

Theft: Victim requested the incident be documented regarding the theft of his money and medication. The R/p refused to file a report.

Phone Harassment: An officer responded on a report of on going harassment on Rivers Bend Dr. The victim provided documentation showing evidence of the event. The suspect was arrested without further incident.

Fraud: Officer responded to a Pinnacle Ct residence in reference fraud.  Officer obtained a written statement and a report was taken.

Fraud: R/p on Hardy Way wanted to inform the police of credit card fraud. The R/p was informed to contact metro police due to the incident occurred there.

Lost Property: A local residence reported that she lost her ring in an E Pioneer Blvd casino.

Sept. 5:

Trespassing: An officer contacted an adult male in a city park on Second South St after park curfew hours.  The male had empty beer cans around him and he had been previously trespassed from the park.  The male was arrested for trespassing.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a report of an adult male stepping in front of traffic and yelling at the drivers in the area of E First North St & N Sandhill Blvd.  Officers arrived on scene and placed one adult male in custody.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to an E Old Mill Rd residence, reference theft of property. Contact was made with the reporting party/ victim. The officer was able to locate the suspect and the stolen property. The property was returned to the victim and no charges were filed.

Juvenile Problem: Officers were informed of an incident on a bus involving juveniles on W Hafen Ln.

Controlled Substance Problem: Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Rivers Bend Dr. One juvenile male passenger was in possession of marijuana and was issued a citation.

Sept. 6:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a found 2 year old male child, walking down the sidewalk at S Grapevine Rd & W Hafen Ln, in an area with no houses. Mother of child was located and child was returned.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to Sagebrush St residence and spoke with male party, concerning visitation and custody issue’s concerning 5 year old son. Male requested report be filed as a matter of record.

Found Property: Officer responded to a W First South St business for a found wallet. Owner was located and wallet was returned, with all contents intact.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to Sagebrush St residence reference a civil matter, involving visitation and custody matters. Involved subject was advised to handle the matter with the Court.

Suspicious/Person: Officers conducted an attempt to locate for a possible wanted male adult on W Mesquite Blvd. The male was not located.

Juvenile Problem: Responded to a Riverside Rd business to speak with a male concerning his juvenile daughter fighting, with another female juvenile. Will bring daughter to Police station after he gets off work.

Welfare Check: An officer responded to a Chaparral Dr residence for a welfare check of an 83 year old male.

Minor Gambling: Police responded to a person under 21 years of age gambling at a E Pioneer Blvd casino. One adult male was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a gated community on Terrace Dr for a report of property damage. Unknown driver apparently struck gate causing damage to the gate. Report taken for matter of record.
