Virgin Valley Artists Association stages its third annual Mesquite Fine Arts Invitational Exhibition, showing now through September 27.   VVAA, operators of the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery, welcomes eight visual arts organizations from throughout Southern Nevada, Utah and California to this joint show.   Returning visual arts groups are Southern Utah Watercolor Society, Dixie Watercolor Society of St George, Left of Center Gallery of North Las Vegas, Boulder City Art Guild, neighboring Moapa Valley Art Guild, and Spring Mountain Art Guild of Pahrump.  Making their first appearance in the unique joint exhibition are Southern Utah Art Guild and Barstow California’s Artist Guild and Painters Palette Workshop.

The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery features diverse artistry and cultural expression in its  community art education programming.  The Invitational is a collaborative exhibition and art sale that demonstrates how the Mesquite gallery broadens local artistic horizons while providing exposure of its own fine art to a wider audience.  Differing influences and world views can be seen in the works from the various art guilds.

In hosting the Invitational, VVAA also strives to build on the similarity of purpose and artistic kinship among neighboring organizations.  It is no accident that a number of artists carry membership in two or more groups in the region, and VVAA has been fortunate to claim members from almost all of the visiting groups on its membership role.   One of VVAA’s unique member benefits is the year-around opportunity for display and sale of art at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery.  It is rare for artists groups to have such an outstanding venue for their work.  The gallery facility is owned by the City of Mesquite, operated by all-volunteer staffing of the nonprofit VVAA organization.
