Primex1aAt approximately 10:37 a.m. Wednesday morning the Mesquite Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting an explosion inside of Primex Plastics, 752 Turtleback Road. An ‘All-Call’ went out to all units in the MPD, MFR as well as to Bunkerville and Beaver Dam Fire Stations.

The cause of the explosion was determined to be a blown power breaker on the second floor of the north side of the building.
Mesquite Police blocked Turtleback road to allow for the Life Flight helicopter from St. George to land.

One man was injured and paramedics worked diligently to stabilize him while waiting for air service. He was in critical condition when he was flown to UMC Burn Center in Las Vegas. Fire and Rescue workers worked to stabilize him on scene before loading him into the helicopter.

MPD reopened the road at 11:45 a.m.
