Clark County declares State of Emergency

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

On September 8, 2014, significant rainfall and thunderstorms created fast moving floodwater in the Moapa, Moapa Valley (Logandale and Overton), and Sandy Valley.

Staff from the County has spent the past several days cleaning up and removing debris to allow access to residential homes and restoring water and power.  Costs for this effort are expected to be incurred by Clark County and supporting agencies.

Damage assessment teams have been surveying the area to identify damage to public infrastructure and private property. Once the assessment teams have completed their work, an estimate of total damages will be made available.

Emergency declarations permit local governments to become eligible for emergency assistance funding.
