The Virgin Valley High School soccer boys dominated the Dragons from Del Sol High School Monday night winning 3-1. The Dawgs’ Uli Flores scored at the 7 minute mark of the first half with the assist going to Moises Medina on a great unselfish pass in the box. The players reversed their role with Medina getting the goal of a Flores pass. The Dawgs led 2-0 11 minutes in before they seemed to lose concentration and did not score again in the half. The Dawgs had 10 shots on goal to four for the Dragons.

The Dawgs began the second with a strong offensive attack early with the Medina brothers Gabby and Moises taking shots within a minute and a half but failing to hit goal. The Dragon goalie made a huge save on a shot from Moises. The Dawgs kept coming up short until Pedro Osunna found Moises in the box hitting him with a sweet pass. Moises scored on a header upping the Dawgs’ lead to 3-1 55 minutes into the match. The Bulldogs had numerous opportunities to add to their lead but could not finish. The Dawgs’ league record went to 2-3 and 5-4-2 overall.

The Dawgs will host Moapa Valley on Wednesday night at the Mesquite Sports and Events Center. The match begins at 6 p.m.
