Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 3– Aug. 9, 2014.

August 3:

Civil Matter: Officer responded to a W Hafen Ln residence on a possible trespass.  During investigation it was determined that the subject in question had not been previously trespassed from the property.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers were dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd parking lot in reference to a suspicious
person.

Animal Complaint: An officer assisted an Animal Control with serving a citation on Valley View Circle.

Domestic Trouble: A citizen at W Mesquite Blvd & Riverside Rd made contact with an officer to report domestic battery, after an investigation one arrest was made.

August 4:

Theft: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store on a reported theft of merchandise.  Officer obtained statements from the business and a report was taken.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Kelkim St residence on reported property damage. Officer arrived on scene collected owners information a report was taken.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a citizen assist call.

Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a Second South St residence on a report of a suicidal subject. Officers determined the subject was upset with their adult children and not suicidal.

Trespassing: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino in reference to a trespass violation.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a Mesa Blvd casino for a citizen assist.

Keep The Peace: Officers responded to a keep the peace call on Pulsipher Ln, one adult was arrested during the incident.

August 5:

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to an intoxicated male walking in the roadway at E First North St & Hughes Ave.

Civil Matter: An officer was dispatched to a Second North St residence in reference to a civil matter.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to a citizen assist call on W Pioneer Blvd.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to a W Hafen Ln business in reference business practices.  Officer determined it was a civil matter and advised the complainant to contact an attorney.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd church in reference to an alarm.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the lobby in reference to a citizen assist.

Burglary: Officers were dispatched to a burglary of a residence on Orion Ln.  Officers found forced entry was made into a residence and personal items were missing.  The Investigations Services Division responded and began an investigation.  A possible suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.

Weapon Offense: Adult male on Riverside Rd arrested for Assault with deadly weapon and discharging firearm. Evidence of crime recovered upon execution of search warrant.

Minor Gambling: Adult minor detained at an E Pioneer Blvd casino for minor gambling. Adult minor received a citation and released with a court date.

August 6:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd Casino parking lot for report of a Hit & Run accident. A parked motorcycle had been hit by an unknown vehicle. A report was taken for insurance purposes.

Theft: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business for a report of a theft. Citizen reported that property was stolen and requested to press charges. Subject was taken into custody without incident.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd parking lot, reference a non-injury, private property traffic accident. The involved drivers received a copy of the drivers exchange form.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a Rodeo Ln residence reference a citizen assist call. One of the male subjects involved was arrested on an active Mesquite Municipal Court bench warrant.

August 7:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence reference a report of domestic violence between two adult females. Both females were arrested for domestic battery.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested an intoxicated male for urinating in the parking lot.

Dead Body: Officer responded to a Blazing Star Xing residence, reference a deceased person. An elderly female had passed away in her sleep, due to age and illness. Clark County Coroner processed the incident.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino parking lot, reference private property accident. The investigation was completed and both drivers received their copy of the drivers exchange form.

Fraud: Officer met with a Mesquite resident at the police department lobby, reference an attempt of fraud on her credit card. The fraud was caught before the transaction was made and money was not transferred from the account. Report as a matter of investigation.

Child Abuse or Neglect: Officers were conducting surveillance on an unrelated incident, when they witnessed 4 unsupervised children (approx 5 years old and younger) ridding battery powered 4-wheelers in a Moss Dr parking lot. Investigation into child neglect continues.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino’s parking lot, reference a non-injury, private property traffic accident. Drivers exchange was completed and provided to both drivers.

Identification Check: Male subject was cited for minor gambling on W Mesquite Blvd.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to the intersection of W Mesquite Blvd & Riverside Rd, reference a two (2) vehicle, non-injury traffic accident. The at-fault driver received a citation.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer spoke with a male who requested to file a report on damage that was done to his vehicle on W Pioneer Blvd.

Controlled Substance Problem: ISND Detectives located and arrested a male on Mesa Blvd for sales of methamphetamine and other illegal drug related crimes.

Phone Harassment: An officer responded to a N Yucca St residence reference a harassment report. The complainant stated he was receiving harassing phone calls, and requested assistance. The officer provided the complainant with information, and an officer’s report was completed.

August 8:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers observed a suspicious vehicle and driver on Riverside Rd. Officers contacted the driver and during the investigation the driver was in possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a dangerous weapon. Subject was arrested for multiple charges.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference, domestic disturbance. During the investigation it was determined the alleged victim was the primary aggressor. The alleged victim was arrested for domestic battery,

Wanted Person:  A male adult was arrested at the Mesquite Justice Facility on a confirmed Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted an adult male with an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant. The male was arrested on the warrant on Ken Ct.

August 9:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a report of property damage on W Pioneer Blvd. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival. The officers determined domestic violence had also occurred, and an adult male was located and arrested.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a Native American male for trespassing.

Weapon Offense: An officer made a welfare check on a male slumped in his vehicle on N Sandhill Blvd, apparently sleeping. The male subject was arrested for concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia.

Noise Disturbance: An officer was dispatched to Gean Street, in reference to a noise complaint.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd store in reference to an alarm.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a citizen assist at a Falcon Ridge Pkwy business.

Civil Matter: Officers were dispatched to a Woods Ct residence for a civil matter.

Attempt to Locate: Officer responded to a Eucalyptus Ln residence in an attempt to contact a wanted subject.  Officer learned subject had left Mesquite about three weeks prior.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to private property vehicle versus light pole collision on Mesa Blvd. Incident was created for insurance purposes.

Theft From Vehicle: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln apartment complex reference a theft from vehicle. Several items were stolen from a parked vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

Noise Disturbance: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence and spoke with an intoxicated male who was being loud. Male agreed to keep the noise down and return to his own residence.
