Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 10 – Aug. 16, 2014.

August 10:

Person on Foot: Officer contacted an adult male who had crossed the street without using the available crosswalk at Hillside Dr & N Sandhill Blvd.  The male was given a warning and advised to use crosswalks for safety reasons.

Suspicious/Person: Officers were dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd business in reference to a suspicious person.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a Riverside Rd complex on a report of harassment.  Officer spoke with reporting party who just wanted it to be a matter of record.

Theft: An officer responded to a Sagedell Rd residence in reference to a theft.  The property was recovered and an adult female was cited for 2 counts of petit larceny and obstructing a public officer.

August 11:

Found Property: Officer located an abandoned bicycle at a W First North St park.  Officer collected the bike and placed it into storage until an owner is located.

Phone Harassment: An officer responded to the police department in reference to a harassment complaint and a report was taken.  An adult female was later cited and released.

Parking Problem: Officer responded to a parking problem on Canyon View Way. Contact was made with the registered owner of the vehicle who agreed to get the vehicle moved that evening.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: Officer served court paperwork to an adult female on W Pioneer Blvd.

August 12:

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: Officer served court paperwork to an adult female on Moss Dr.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist and answered questions for an adult male.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a local residence to follow-up on a recent investigation and verify possibly new information.

Sex Offender Verification: An officer was dispatched to a the police department for a FDR verify.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to E Old Mill Rd to assist Mesquite Fire and Rescue with an alleged attempted suicide.

Minor Gambling: Police responded to a minor gambling at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. One 19 year old male was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.

August 13:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to Turtleback Rd & W Pioneer Blvd for a single vehicle accident with no reported injuries. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. The driver was issued a citation for a traffic violation. The disabled vehicle was towed at the owner’s request.

August 14:

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Recovered a stolen vehicle on River Cliff Rd in Bunkerville.

Lost Property: An officer responded to a local gas station reference a missing wallet. Officers checked the surrounding area but were unsuccessful in their attempts to locate the wallet.

August 15:

Theft: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd store for a report of theft of merchandise. Subject was located and issued a citation for petit larceny.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a non injury vehicle accident, in an E Pioneer Blvd Casino parking lot. All involved parties were identified and an exchange of information was completed.

Assault W/Weapon: Officers responded to a residence on Vineyard Ln reference a man with a knife. The complainant stated his brother assaulted him with a knife, and barricaded himself inside the home. The man exited the home without incident, and was arrested.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a private property vehicle accident on E Pioneer Blvd. The officers assisted in ensuring vehicle and insurance information was properly exchanged.

August 16:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to the area of Pioneer Boulevard and Mesa Boulevard for a report of disorderly conduct by several subjects. After identifying all involved subjects, one female was arrested on a Mesquite Municipal Warrant.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a report of a male subject creating a disturbance in the valet area. Subject was issued a citation for breach of peace and released with a court date.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a 911 call of a domestic violence in progress on Joshua Dr and possible suicidal person. Upon arrival officers deescalated the situation. It was determined two subjects were involved in a domestic battery as mutual combatants. Both were taken into custody. The suicidal person was taken to mental health professionals and evaluated.

Theft: Officer responded to the W Mesquite Blvd Mc Donald’s reference a report of a purse that was left in the restaurant. Video showed the purse to be taken by another party. A report was taken and an investigation has been started.

Intoxicated Person: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence for a report of an intoxicated female creating a disturbance. Subject was issued two citations and released with a court date.

Citizen Assist: Mother had questions regarding child’s delinquent behavior and protection orders

Citizen Assist: Citizen seeking information on child custody matters

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd hotel reference a wanted person who requested to turn himself in. The wanted was person was not in the hotel room, and officers were unable to locate him.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation at the intersection of W First South St & Piute St. The adult male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of open container, and several drug charges.
