Wednesday, August 20 produced more relaxed results, with the three-man team (two best balls) event, with the team of John Meyers, Alex Churchich and Bill Losh taking first place. Meyers had his iron game in high gear winning four out of the five closest to the pin awards for the day on holes #5, #8, #14 and #17.

Clark Mitchell won the prize on hole #2, with a little over 12” to putt. “Actually, if Clark had more help from his partners, his team had a good shot at winning… his birdie-birdie start looked like a record day until he got tired of the two loads, John Johnson and myself,” noted Buttler.

Skin monies were awarded to Alex Churchich (1), Larry Mierisch (1) and Clark Mitchell (2).

The Falcon Ridge Golf Course will be closing for overseeding in September, and will hold an Overseed Party on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Noon. An entry fee of $45 will cover lunch, nine holes of golf, tournament entry fee, and a four-hole horse race and cocktail in the clubhouse afterwards. The format of the golf tournament will be a two-person team event with putting and chipping.

“This is the best golf and social event of the year,” Buttler said. “You won’t want to miss it!”

The GAS Club meets every Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course, 1024 Normandy Lane, Mesquite. Anyone interested in joining the fun can contact Jim Buttler at 702-346-2714 or Brian Wursten at 702-346-6363.
