For Monday, August 18, the local Golf And Social Club tightened the competition by going for a two-best-ball score format at Falcon Ridge Golf Course.
The winning team of Sid Bounds, Dave Calmelat, Stan Nickle and Larry Mierisch won by 2.5 stokes, shooting a scratch 76 for the back nine, just two over the par 37 for the course. Mierisch contributed with his plays on hole #16 and Bounds closed the deal with taking low gross and net against the rest of the field.
While the winning foursome enjoyed the larger margin of victory, the second, third and fourth place teams were separated by a mere 3/10 of a stroke each.
“It’s getting tough to close the deal with some of these players,” joked Jim Buttler.
Skins for the day went to John Meyer for hole #15 and Ben Bishop for hole #16.
Closest to the pin prizes were won by Dave Calmelat on hole #14 and Bill Losh for hole #17.
