Bulldog football will feature their second head coach in three years. New coach Yori Ludvigson replaces coach Chris Sawyers whose record was 13-8 over two years. It will be a rebuilding year for Ludvigson as he loses most of the starters from last year’s squad. Last year’s backup quarterback Tony Urias had more receptions as a receiver than pass completions as a Q.B. Senior running back Junior Paongo returns after gaining 405 yards on 95 carries in a backup role. Broyden Lee returns as an experienced lineman and Caesar Zarate returns as a placekicker. The Dawgs will be counting on J.V. and newcomers to fill the void. Practice begins at 6:30 am on Monday August 11, Assisting coach Ludvigson will be Mark White, John Noel, Rob Leete, Justin Ludvigson, Mitchell Ozaki, Nick Montoya and Ryan Hughes. The Dawgs begin their season on August 29 against 1-A Sunset Division member Western High School who lost all their games in 2013. The Bulldogs travel to Faith Lutheran on September 5 before returning on September 12 to face newcomer to Division 1-A Del Sol for their home opener. The rest of the season schedule can be found below.

Bulldog soccer teams are looking to have a good year in 2014. Boy’s head coach Mike Pletzke, is hoping to continue last season’s strong finish with a quick start in 2014. The Bulldogs 2013 season record was 3-6-2 in league play and 9-9-3 overall. The Dawgs will return 13 players from last year’s squad including leading scorer Gabby Medina. Practice begins August 16 at 6am

Coach Bob Snell had a playoff team last year and should again compete for a playoff spot in 2014. The Bulldogs had their first winning season since 2001 with a 9-7-5 overall record. Leading the Bulldogs in 2014 is leading scorer Abbie Barnum and goalkeeper Spencer Green. A major concern for Snell is his defensive side as the Bulldogs lost six seniors to graduation.

The Bulldog volleyball program debuts in 2014 with a new coach. Long-time coach Ilona Robison moves on after finishing 2013 with an 8-20 record. New coach Lori Barnum inherits a mostly sophomore and junior team. The Lady Dawgs will be led by the Fiso sisters Bernice and Janella. Sophomore Emma Barnum will also be counted on in 2014.
