The GAS Club’s July 9 meeting played a two-man team total score format at Falcon Ridge Golf Course.
Participation numbers threw in an unusual factor for the players, as there were an odd number of golfers, creating the two-man team issue. For this reason one person to ‘blind draw’ a partner after play.
Jim Buttler was the lucky ‘blind draw’ and picked up Andrew Yeh as his partner, who had done more than enough to be at the top of the leader board, shooting a 70, bringing the pair’s net score to 138.2.
Yeh was also part of the second place team with Dave Calmelat and together they brought a total of 139.6, less than a stroke behind first place.
Yeh was on fire throughout the day, earning some cash for his four skins. Ron Nickle, Alex Churchich, John Meyer and Stan Nickle also took home one each.
Closest to the pin awards went to Bill Losh on hole #2, Ron Nickle on #5, Alex Churchich on #8, Stan Nickle on #14 and Dave Calmelat on hole #17.
Despite the hot summer months being upon the Mesquite area, turnout for the twice-weekly GAS Club meetings has maintained good participation numbers.
