Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 29 – July 5, 2014.

 

June 29:

Driving Under the Influence: Officer arrested one adult male for DUI on Mesa Blvd, driver’s license violation, and traffic offense.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a clinic on W Pioneer Blvd to assist Mesquite Fire & Rescue.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to a local intersection on N Sandhill Blvd, in reference to a disabled vehicle.

Alarm: An officer responded to a local business on N Sandhill Blvd in reference to an alarm.  Employees were on scene, no problems.

Threatening: Officers responded to a restaurant on Falcon Ridge Pkwy reference a threatening phone call.

Alarm: Officers responded to the elementary school on Woodbury Lane in reference to an alarm.

Civil Matter: Citizen on N Sandhill Blvd reported child custody issues. Citizen was advised to follow through on child custody paper work through the family court.

June 30:

Wanted Person: Officers made contact with a wanted subject at a local residence on W Mesquite Blvd. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody.

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a local address on Peartree Ln for a welfare check and determined the resident had moved.

VIN Number Inspection: An officer responded to a local address on Riverside Rd in reference to a VIN inspection.

Lost Property: Officer received a report of lost property that occurred at a local business.

Citizen Assist: Officer checked a vehicle’s window tint after owner had it fixed.

Panhandling: An officer made contact with an adult male who was panhandling at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd, a warning was issued.

Panhandling: Officers responded to a local business on N Sandhill Blvd in reference to a report of panhandling.

Suspicious/Person: Officers were dispatched to a local business store on W Mesquite Blvd for a report of a person passed out behind a dumpster. The subject was trespassed from property.

Suspicious/Person: Officer was dispatched to a gas station on W Mesquite Blvd for a person sleeping against the building. Officers made contact and the subject was later arrested.

July 1:

Welfare Check: An Officer responded to a gas station on W Mesquite Blvd for a welfare check.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a local residence on Mesquite Springs Dr in reference to a dispute over an air conditioning unit.

Agency Assistance: Officers were dispatched to a local address on N Yucca St in reference to a agency assist call.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a local parking lot, in reference to a single vehicle accident damaging some private property at S Grapevine Rd & W Hafen Ln.

Phone Harassment: Officer received a complaint of unwanted text messages.

Alarm: Officers were dispatched to a local business on W Hafen Ln in reference to an alarm call.

Sex Offender Verification: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a sex offender registration verification.

Vandalism: Officer received a report of vandalism which occurred at a local business. A written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Trespassing: Police responded to a report of trespass violators at a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd. One adult male and one adult female were issued citations for trespassing and released with a court date.

July 2:

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to a report of a male and female on S Arrowhead Ln having an argument over a baby. The involved parties were gone upon arrival. Officer was able to locate involved parties and found the dispute was concerning who was going to take the child and was found to be verbal only.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a local casino on W Mesquite Blvd for a report of a trespass violation. Subject was issued a citation and released with a court date. Subject left the property without further incident.

Fraud: Officer met with a female subject in the lobby of the Police Department and took a report of fraudulent activity on her credit report.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a female on Falcon Ridge Pkwy who had an active warrant out of the Mesquite Municipal Court.

July 3:

Theft: Officers and a detective were dispatched to a local utility company on W Mesquite Blvd, reference theft of property. Evidence was collected and investigation continues.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to local gas station on Falcon Ridge Pkwy for a report of a vehicle accident in the parking lot. Photographs were taken and drivers exchange form was completed.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a casino parking lot on Mesa Blvd and took a property damage report, reference a windshield damaged by a thrown rock. Information was obtained and report taken.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with an adult female on N Sandhill Blvd with an active warrant. The female was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

July 4:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a residence reference a report of domestic battery and property damage on Riverside Rd. An adult female and her adult male boyfriend had been in a fight, and the female was arrested.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation at Green Park Dr & W Pioneer Blvd. The officer located illegal drugs in the vehicle, and later cited the driver for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd where they arrested an intoxicated male for trespassing and breach of peace.

Suspicious/Person: Officers were dispatched to local residence on Riverside Rd, reference suspicious persons in the back yard. Officer contacted a male adult who is under the age of 21, but over the age of 18 of age consuming alcoholic beverages. The male subject was placed under arrest for minor consumption.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Gypsy Boy Ln, reference property damage to a cluster mail box. Information was provided and the report was completed.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding at Desert Dr & W Mesquite Blvd. After an investigation the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a vehicle accident at Chaparral Dr & Vista Del Sol Ct and discovered the driver was intoxicated and not safe to drive. The driver was taken to the hospital where she was also cited and released for DUI.

Theft: Officers responded to a residence on Cottonwood Dr reference a report of theft. The complainant stated money was taken from his wallet. A suspect was identified, and the investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a local casino on Mesa Blvd and arrested a female who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

July 5:

Petit Larceny: Officers responded to a department store on W Pioneer Blvd reference suspicious subjects, and possible theft. One adult male was issued a citation for petit larceny and drug offenses. Another male subject was arrested for several drug offenses. An adult female was arrested for an outstanding out of state warrant.

Hit & Run: An officer was dispatched to local residence on Hacienda Way, reference a hit and run accident. The investigation revealed the vehicle was parked and unattended at the time of the accident and the suspect vehicle had left the area.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Desert Dr, reference theft. The victim requested the incident be documented.
