Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for July 6 – July 12, 2014.

 

July 6:

Unknown problem: Officers responded to a 911 hang up on W Mesquite Blvd.  Upon arrival Officers located an elderly male who was requesting medical treatment, Mesquite Fire and Rescue responded for treatment.

Attempt to Locate: Officer responded to circulate for a vehicle believed to have open container of
alcoholic beverage in vehicle on W Mesquite Blvd. Vehicle was gone on arrival and not located.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic situation on Hardy Way that was reported by an unknown person on a cell phone.  Officers checked the area but were unable to find anything unusual.

Welfare Check: Officers responded to a report of a possible assault victim at the local hospital on Bertha Howe Ave.

Fighting: Police responded to a fight at a local casino on Mesa Blvd. One adult male was issued a citation for battery and released with a court date.

July 7:

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd on a report of an underage female gambling. Female was issued citation without incident.

Welfare Check: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Pinehurst Dr in reference to a welfare check.

Citizen Assist: Officers were dispatched to a local bank parking lot on W Mesquite Blvd in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Civil Matter: Officers were dispatched to a local residence on E First South St in reference to a civil matter.

Juvenile Problem: Officer received a report of a juvenile problem that is occurring in another jurisdiction. Courtesy report was gathered.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: An officer was dispatched to I-15 NB, in reference to a traffic accident.

Vandalism: An Officer responded to a local park on W Hafen Ln reference firework damage.

Vandalism: An Officer responded to a residence on Joshua Dr reference questions about vandalism.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to an alarm call at a local residence on Greens Way.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to a local apartment complex on Riverside Rd, in reference to a minor accident in the parking lot.

Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to a local office building on W Pioneer Blvd in reference to a keep the peace call.

Attempt to Locate: Officers attempted to locate a vehicle involved in a crime from another city.

Civil Matter: An officer was dispatched to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd in reference to a civil matter.

Found Property: Officer was dispatched to a report of found property at a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd. Owner was contacted and returned for the property.

Agency Assistance: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a citizen assist call.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to Mesa View Hospital to assist a local citizen.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department in reference to a citizen assist.

Trespassing: Police responded to a trespass violator at a local casino on Mesa Blvd. One adult male was arrested for a warrant and multiple misdemeanor offenses and was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

July 8:

Sex Offender Verification: Officer conducted a sex offender registry verification at the police department.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a business on W Hafen Ln reference a disorderly customer.

Citizen Assist: An Officer responded to assist a citizen with a concern on W Mesquite Blvd.

Person on Foot: Officers located an adult male on Desert Dr & W Mesquite Blvd who was non-compliant with sex offender registration and he was taken into custody.

Lost Property: Officer responded to a local residence on Mesa Blvd on a report of keys stolen from a
vehicle. The keys were located inside the residence. Nothing further.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a verbal argument between spouses on Sunvalley Dr.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a vandalized vehicle in a parking lot on N Sandhill Blvd.

Agency Assistance: An officer received a request for assistance from an outside agency on Kitty Hawk Dr.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle call on Verllonia St.

July 9:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Casino on E Pioneer Boulevard for a Keep the Peace, while a female left her boyfriend. The female took her property and left the area with no problems from either party.

Burglary: Officer responded to a report of the wooden shed at the gun range had been broke into sometime before July 5th, 2014. Report was taken and investigation is ongoing.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer responded to a residence on W Camellia Circle and took a report of stolen UTV recreation vehicle. Information concerning the stolen vehicle was taken and an investigation was started.

Theft-Bicycle: Officers responded to a residence on Lewis St reference a stolen bicycle.  A report was taken and attempts to locate the bicycle are ongoing.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident at Oasis Blvd & Kensington Ave. A report was taken, and driver information was exchanged with property owner.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence on Royal Flush Ct reference a noise complaint.  A citation was issued to the individual causing the disturbance.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident on W Mesquite Blvd and arrested the driver for DUI, open container, and failure to maintain travel lane.

July 10:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a residence on Rivers Bend Dr for a report of damage done to his vehicle during the night. Investigation continues.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer responded to Hillside Dr for a report of a citizen reporting his vehicle was stolen from his residence. Report was taken and offender was taken into custody.

Domestic Trouble: Officer met with a male subject and took a report of a domestic situation that had occurred the day before. All information was received and a report was completed.

Threatening: Officer responded to the Safe Nest office, reference a report of threats and a domestic situation. After receiving all the information concerning the incident, both the female and male were arrested for the domestic situation.

Juvenile Problem: An officer responded to a residence on Bay Hill Cir in reference to a run away juvenile, who was making suicidal statements. The juvenile returned back to her residence a short time later. The guardians, the juvenile, and officer resolved the matter for the night.

July 11:

Intoxicated Person: Officer responded to a residence on E Old Mill Rd, reference an intoxicated female. The female was found to be in violation of her probation for being intoxicated. The probation officer requested she be placed in custody for the violation.

Suspicious/Person: Officer was dispatch to E Mesquite Blvd for a report of a female subject sleeping in a bathroom at city hall. Subject was located and was taken into custody for theft.

Civil Matter: R/p had questions regarding custody issues with her children and her mother in law.

Burglary: Officer took a report of the theft of items from a residence, while the family was gone vacation. A door to the residence was left unlocked while the family was away. A report was taken and investigation started.

Burglary: Officer’s responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence reference a missing/stolen laptop computer. An investigation continues.

July 12:

Attempt to Locate: Officer received information of a wanted person heading to Arizona. Area was circulated and Arizona was notified.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a Riverside Rd business parking lot in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Burglary: Officer responded to a Desert Willow Ln residence on a report of a burglary. The investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious/Vehicle: Officers were dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd parking lot in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Welfare Check: An officer responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence in reference to a welfare check, no contact was made.

Parking Problem: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd business parking lot, in reference to a parking problem.

Information Report: Officer responded to Lewis St for a report of a threats made on facebook.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Police responded to property damage at a local parking lot on W Pioneer Blvd. A report was taken for the incident.

Wanted Person: During a traffic stop at Leavitt Ln & Pulsipher Ln, officers identified an adult female with warrants and she was taken into custody.

Minor Gambling: Police responded to a minor gambling at a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd. One 19 year old male was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.
