Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for July 20 – July 26, 2014.

 

July 20:

Animal Complain: Officer responded to a local business on E Pioneer Blvd for a call of cruelty to animal.  During the investigation the officer discovered the subject in question had a felony warrant out of Las Vegas.  Subject was taken into custody.

Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to a local residence on E First South St on a suspicious person.  Officers determined the person was lost and released them to their family.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a local apartment complex on Riverside Rd in reference to a noise complaint.

Attempt to Locate: Officer received call from a neighboring agency on an attempt to locate a missing person.  Officers were unable to locate person in Mesquite City Limits.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a local apartment complex on Riverside Rd in reference to a noise complaint.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: An officer served a subpoena on a local resident on Falcon Ridge Pkwy.

Found Property: Officer responded to a report of found property on Mesa Blvd. The property was secured in the evidence vault for safe keeping.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to a local hospital in reference to a traffic accident involving a pedestrian on W Hafen Ln.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police responded to a non-injury private property traffic accident on Mesa Blvd. Insurance information was exchanged and a report was taken.

July 21:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a N Grapevine Rd apartment complex on a report of a disorderly subject.  Officers arrested one adult male for battery.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a local casino on W Mesquite Blvd, in reference to a citizen assist.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a citizen assist.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a local church on Canyon Crest Blvd in reference to an alarm.

Parking Problem: Officer responded to a report of a parking problem on Kelkim St. Contact was made with the owner who was advised of the city ordinance.

Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd, in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a Sunvalley Dr residence to assist Nevada Parole & Probation Officer with transportation of two violators.

Follow Up Investigation: Officer received information on a stolen vehicle from our city that was recovered in another state.

Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to a local business on Falcon Ridge Pkwy, in reference to keep the peace call.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: Officer responded to a local apartment complex on N Grapevine Rd to serve a subpoena.  Papers were served to the named party.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist and answered questions regarding a possible scam.

Theft: An Officer responded to a Riverside Rd residence for a reported theft.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a property damage only accident on E Pioneer Blvd.

Traffic Stop: Police conducted a traffic stop at N Grapevine Rd on a vehicle for a moving violation. One adult female was issued multiple traffic citations. The adult male passenger was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

July 22:

Alarm: Officer responded to a Pinnacle Ct business on an audible alarm.  Officer determined building was secure.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officer’s conducted alcohol awareness checks on several Mesquite Blvd businesses. All businesses were in compliance.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officer’s conducted alcohol awareness checks on several Pioneer Blvd businesses. All businesses were in compliance.

Phone Harassment: An officer contacted a person on Joseph St who had questions about a restraining order.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a citizen assist.

Abandoned Vehicle: Officers responded to a Pulsipher Ln vacant lot on an abandoned vehicle.  Vehicle was on private property and in no way obstructing traffic.

Phone Harassment: Officers responded to a harassment problem on E First North St and spoke with one adult male. The issues were resolved, and no crime was committed.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a citizen assist at the police station.

Fighting: Officers were dispatched to a Pulsipher Ln condominium complex, in reference to a possible fight.

Identity Theft: Officer’s responded to the Mesquite Police Department Lobby for a report of a possible stolen social security number. Reporting party stated he was informed his social security number may have or is being used by someone for cell phones.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a Quail Run residence to verify a Vehicle Identification Number on an All Terrain Vehicle.

Agency Assistance: ISD Detectives assisted Washington County Task force with a controlled purchase of Narcotics.

Civil Matter: Officer spoke with a parent on Mesa Blvd concerning custody issues.

Traffic Stop: ISD conducted a traffic stop on N Sandhill Blvd. The traffic stop resulted in finding the driver had outstanding warrants.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded on a domestic violence call.  After an investigation and documenting both parties injuries; the male offender was arrested.

July 23:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a local intersection on N Sandhill Blvd, reference a non-injury traffic accident. The at-fault driver was issued a citation.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident with non injuries at a local pharmacy parking lot on N Sandhill Blvd. Officers completed a driver’s exchange form.

Traffic Stop: Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for several traffic violations on N Sandhill Blvd. Upon investigation the driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property. One adult female was arrested.

Phone Harassment: An officer took a report regarding possible threats on W Pioneer Blvd. The victim only wanted the suspect to be told to cease any future contact or communication with the victim. The suspect was located by police and notified. The suspect agreed to stop any further communication with victim.

July 24:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd department store, reference a disorderly male adult, yelling and screaming at patrons inside the store. The store manager signed a complaint against the male for breach of peace. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Person On Foot: Detectives on E Mesquite Blvd requested assistance in locating and arresting a male for sales of a controlled substance. Officer located and arrested the male without incident.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a minor vehicle accident in a parking lot on N Sandhill Blvd. Drivers exchange was completed and photographs taken.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd  casino reference a report of minor gambling. An 18-year-old male was issued a citation for gambling while under 21, and an officer’s report was completed.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence reference a report of domestic battery. A male and female were involved in a physical altercation, and the male subject left the area prior to officers’ arrival. The male was identified, and the investigation continues.

July 25:

Welfare Check: Officer’s responded to a Riverside Rd residence to conduct a welfare check on an adult female. The female appeared to be happy and healthy.

Citizen Assist: Officer took a report for a citizen assist on W Mesquite Blvd.

Phone Harassment: Officer’s responded to a San Lucas Way residence for a report of harassing telephone calls. R/p stated he was uncertain who, where, or why the person was calling his residence.

Found Property: Officer’s responded to the Mesquite Police Department’s Lobby for a report of found property. Property was returned to the owner.

Parking Problem: Officer placed a 24 hour sticker on a trailer that has been reported to be parked in front of a Casa Grande Circle residence along the curb and on the roadway for almost two weeks.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Red Rock Dr residence reference domestic battery. The male suspect left prior to officers’ arrival. While taking the report, the male suspect returned. The male was arrested for domestic battery and driving under the influence of alcohol.

July 26:

Theft: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store reference a report of theft. An adult male stole items from the store, and fled the area in a vehicle. An officer’s report was completed, and the investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Person: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on W Pioneer Blvd. The driver had an active warrant out the Mesquite Municipal Court. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail for the warrant.

Found Property: Officer responded to the area of Riverside Road on a report of a large knife in the bike lane.  Officer determined it was plastic novelty item and disposed of it.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence on a noise complaint.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a Kalanchoe Way residence to assist Mohave County Sheriff’s Office with an attempt to contact the resident.

Driving Under the Influence: A vehicle was parked in a Second South St city park parking lot late at night. After making contact with the driver, it was determined the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center and booked into jail.
