Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for July 13 – July 19, 2014.

July 13:

Unknown Problem: Officer responded to a local residence on Sunvalley Dr for a 911 hang up.  Officer determined a child was playing on the phone.

Keep The Peace: Officers were dispatched to a residence on Casa Grande Circle for a keep the peace. One adult female was trespassed from the residence without incident.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a verbal family fight on Riverside Rd.

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a local residence on Shade Tree Ln on a welfare check. Residence was locked, no answer at the door. Voice mail was left on phone, and complainant was notified.

Unknown Problem: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Cherokee St in reference to a 911 hang up call.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to Riverside Rd to make contact with the reporting person on the phone for a citizen assist call.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a local residence on N Grapevine Rd in reference to a domestic battery.

Theft: An Officer responded to a residence on E Old Mill Rd concerning a theft. A report was taken.

Civil Matter: Police responded to a civil matter child custody exchange on E Pioneer Blvd. The child was exchanged without incident.

Wanted Person: An individual in custody on Hillside Dr. being run for wants pending release was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Utah. Inmate was transported to the Clark County Detention Center without incident.

July 14:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a local residence on Mohave Dr on a garage door being open and the resident not being home.  Officer arrived and spoke with the resident who was in fact home and was just letting the garage air out.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a local apartment complex on N Grapevine Rd on a reported suspicious circumstance.  Officer collected a small plastic bag containing a suspected controlled substance.

Sexual Assault: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on E Pioneer Blvd in reference to a sexual assault.

Suspicious/Person: Officer responded to a local residence on W Hafen Ln on a report of a man going through the garbage. Officer located the man who was collecting aluminum cans.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a local business on W Mesquite Blvd to verify the Vehicle Identification Numbers on two vehicles.

Follow Up Investigation: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department in reference to a follow up investigation.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Sandhill Blvd & I15 SB in reference to a two vehicle accident with injuries.

Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to a local business on W Hafen Ln in reference to a keep the peace call.

Sex Offender Verification: Officer responded to the Police Department to verify information on a registered offender.

Suspicious/Vehicle: Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle call on W First North St.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd on a report of an elderly male who was disoriented. Officer assisted until medical arrived on scene.

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a local residence on Primrose Ln on a welfare check. Officer made contact with the resident who was asked to call his son to let him know he was okay.

Threatening: An Officer responded to a residence on Riverside Rd reference a threat made to the occupants.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a residence on Joshua Dr reference a trespassed adult male who returned.

July 15:

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a local residence on Plateau Rd to assist a State Parole and Probation Officer with a female client.  Officer transported female to the detention center.

Phone Harassment: Officer spoke with a concerned parent on E Mesquite Blvd regarding text messages sent to their son. Officer spoke with all parties involved and a report was taken.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers were dispatched to a local residence on Riverside Rd in reference to a suspicious situation.

Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Rivers Bend Dr in reference to a keep the peace call.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Grotto Trail in reference to an alarm.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a local business on E Mesquite Blvd in reference to a suspicious person.

Welfare Check: Officer conducted a welfare check at a local residence on Silver Rd. The previous tenants no longer lived at that location.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer’s responded to Mesquite Police Department for a report of a possible stolen identification. Investigation continues.

Transport: Transported 1 Male to The Doctor for Anxiety and returned to MDC without incident.

Citizen Assist: Report of a possible domestic that was found to be children playing loud on Mesquite Springs Dr.

Follow Up Investigation: Officer was contacted regarding a previous incident. Complainant’s questions were answered regarding the status of the case.

Information Report: Person reported possible scam with phone solicitors requesting access to home computers for windows update. Phone solicitors was denied request.

Vandalism: Officer’s responded to a local residence on Riverside Rd for a report of vandalism done to a vehicle. Officers took report.

Threatening: Officers responded to N Grapevine Rd to assist a citizen with questions about a temporary restraining order.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a property damage call at a casino on W Mesquite Blvd.

July 16:

Agency Assistance: Officer made contact with a female on parole and probation on E Old Mill Rd. The female was in violation of her probation and her parole officer requested the female be arrested for violation of her parole.

Theft: Officer took a report of theft of medications from a local residence on Bobcat Run.

Petit Larceny: Officer responded to a gas station on Sandhill Boulevard, reference a report of the theft of fuel. Information concerning the theft was obtained and a report taken. The theft is under investigation.

Theft: Officers responded to a local grocery store on N Sandhill Blvd reference a theft. An adult male was arrested for shoplifting.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officers responded to a local residence on Riverside Rd reference minors consuming alcohol. Two adult males were arrested and two minor females received minor consumption citations.

Wanted Person: An officer stopped a female on E Mesquite Blvd & N Sandhill Blvd with an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant. The female was arrested on the warrant and a traffic violation.

Mental Person: Officers responded to a residence on Mesa Springs Dr in reference to a possible mental patient suffering from dementia. Officers determined the elderly female was a threat to herself and others. The female was transported to the hospital, by ambulance, for a medical evaluation.

July 17:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at S Grapevine Rd & W Hafen Ln. Pedestrian was transported to the hospital. Traffic Accident Investigation is ongoing.

Missing Person: Officer took a report of a missing person on E Pioneer Blvd. All attempts have been made to contact and/or locate the subject.

Agency Assistance: Officer assisted an outside agency with video surveillance on Falcon Ridge Pkwy.

Stolen Property: Officer responded to a report of property that had been stolen from a local business on Auto Mall Circle. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd and cited a female for minor gambling.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to an apartment complex on N Grapevine Rd reference a male walking around the buildings yelling. The officers located the male, and he was arrested for breach of peace.

July 18:

Trespassing: An officer contacted an adult male in a city park on Second South St after park curfew hours. The male was in possession of alcohol, and had previously been trespassed from the park. The male was arrested for trespassing and other offenses.

Intoxicated Person: Officer responded to a local parking lot on Hillside Dr, reference an intoxicated male. The male was placed into Civil Protection Custody.

Citizen Dispute: Officer responded to a Sun City residence on Wagon Wheel Run and took a report of a dispute between neighbors. The matter was report as a matter of record

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a private property on W Pioneer Blvd, non injury accident on West Pioneer Boulevard. Drivers and Vehicles were identified and an exchange of information was completed.

Recovered Stolen Property: Officer took a report of a recovered stolen firearm.

Fraud: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a fraud complaint of a counterfeit check. A report was taken and forwarded to investigations for follow-up.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to a local casino on W Mesquite Blvd and cited an underage male for minor gambling.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a casino on W Mesquite Blvd reference a trespass violator. The adult female was issued a citation for trespass and released with a court date.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a casino on E Pioneer Blvd in reference a trespass violator who had a warrant out of the Mesquite Municipal Court. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail with no incident.

July 19:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Mesquite residence on Muscat Dr and took a report of property damage, Vandalism to a vehicle. Officer observed the vehicle had been keyed on all sides. Information was gathered and a report taken. Investigation continues.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer made contact with a male on W Mesquite Blvd with an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer responded to a hotel on W Mesquite Blvd to speak with an employee reference a suspicious incident from the previous night. They wanted to document the incident as a matter of record, and an officer’s report was completed.
