Monday’s outing consisted of nine-hole matches with a three-score per team format. Winds added to the challenge, especially on hole #1, where even a par (5) would qualify for a skin to players like Andrew Yeh.

The winning team was led by great scores from John Meyer and Stan Nickle, who both shot a 38 for the round, as well as Jim Buttler and Bill Losh. The team of four beat out the second place team by a solid two strokes.

The closest to the pin awards went to Ray Sweat on hole #2, John Meyer on hole #5 and Ben Bishop on hole #8. Ray has been out of the club for a bit, but has returned after eye surgery and is coming back with a vengeance. Ray managed to reach the green on hole #7 within two shots, but left his six-foot eagle putt just a foot short for a remarkable comeback.

Skins for the day were won by Gary Bartlett, Stan Nickle, Ron Nickle and Ray Sweat.

Low net went to Stan Nickle who shot a 31.6 for the day.

All players are welcome to join the GAS Club, as they meet every Monday afternoon for the nine-hole competition and Wednesday mornings for 18-hole rounds at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course. For more information, contact Jim Buttler at 702-346-2714 or Brian Wursten at 702-346-6363.
