Rec Center offers new training classes

KRAV MAGA Training is a hand to hand combat system developed in Israel that involved striking techniques. It utilizes wrestling and grappling to defeat an opponent and is considered one the premier combat sports taught today.

Hosted by the Mesquite Martial Arts Program the KRAV MAGA Class will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. and you must be over the age of 18 to take this class, the class is Free.

The Class will be taught by Master Leland Brandon of Henderson, Nevada. Master Brandon has instructor status in Taekwondo, Krav Maga Jeet Kun Do and Kali. He established the nonprofit organization in 2009 “Kidzmatter”. He sponsors the Anti-bully Program that the ATA Mesquite Martial Arts Program “Karate for Kids” uses today.
S.H.A.R.P. (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention) Course, The class will be led by Leland Brandon at the Mesquite Recreation Center on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. The program is FREE for all to attend.

The SHARP Course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of women when control methods are required. Principles and strategies for effectively reducing the likelihood of assault through actual techniques of countering an attack are stressed in this program. Utilizing efficient and effective methods of subject control that do not rely on size and strength, SHARP has developed a training system that can be used by just about everyone who is interested in personal safety.
