The Monday, July 7 gathering of the GAS Club brought out a bigger crowd despite the hot temperatures. With most of the regular members gone for the summer, the higher turnout was a shock to organizers.

The four-man teams played a three-best-ball format which meant all would have to play and be counted on at one time or another.

The winning team’s score of 103 was impressive, going to Capt. Ron Nickle, Dave Calmelat, John Johnson and Doug Lund.

Low net went to Alex Churchich with a 31.6, nosing out Stan Nickle, who shot a 36, by just a half of a stroke.

Closest to the pin winners were Dave Calmelat on hole #2, Alex Churchich on hole #5 and Stan Nickle on hole #8.

There were three skin winners in Monday’s meeting, one each going to Alex Churchich, John Johnson and Capt. Ron Nickle.

Brian Wursten and the Falcon Ridge Golf Course workers accommodated the players by keeping the lounge open after closing time, allowing the players to cool off a bit before heading home.

The GAS Club meets at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course, 1024 Normandy Lane every Monday and Wednesday. For more information, call the clubhouse at 702-346-6363.
