MLN-Youth2july10-14Three busloads of young people and their leaders from the Virgin Valley traveled from Mesquite to Ephraim, Utah for a Youth Conference at Snow College in June.

The Mesquite Nevada Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brought the 14 to 18 year olds together for three days of fun activities and spiritual experiences. While staying in college housing and using campus venues, this group of 225 youth had opportunities to hear their leaders speak on subjects important to them like Friends, Choice and Accountability, Honesty and Integrity, and The Armor of God: Staying Strong in a Changing World.

Stake President Theron Jensen counseled the youth to think about the things that really mattered in life and challenged them to tithe their time by giving at least two hours a day to the Lord.

These wonderful, inspirational experiences were balanced by activities like rock wall climbing, tandem bike riding, a game of dodge ball, and cooling water games which included launching water balloons. A dance with youth from a stake in St. George gave the young people an opportunity to meet and have fun with new friends.

One night the conference attendees saw a presentation of the Mormon Miracle Pageant on the grounds of the nearby Manti Utah Temple.

Everyone in attendance agreed that the Youth Conference was a highlight of the summer and gave them inspiration to live better and more focused on the truly important things in their lives.
