At its June 17, 2014 meeting, the Library District Board of Trustees selected Ronald R. Heezen, Ph.D., for the position of Executive Director. He will replace current Executive Director Jeanne Goodrich who is retiring at the end of the summer.

Since 2009, Heezen has been the Executive Director of Shreve Memorial Library System in Shreveport, Louisiana, and the Director of the Green Gold Library System consisting of 12 parishes in northwest Louisiana. Among other previous positions, he was Director of Frisco Public Library in Frisco, Texas, and Executive Director of Omaha Public Library in Omaha, Nebraska.

Library Board Chair Keiba Crear said, “Ron Heezen is a seasoned library professional who brings extensive experience in administration, automation, budgeting, building design and space utilization, among other relevant experience. The Board looks forward to working with him to meet the challenges to come.”

Heezen holds a B.A. in history from the University of Utah, an M.L.S. from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in Library Science (Rhetoric cognate) from Texas Woman’s University.
