4th of July Events flood Mesquite Thursday and Friday

While the weather is surely hotter than comfortable right now, the events throughout Mesquite will allow for some cooling-off time coupled with fun. Keep in mind that temperatures are expected to be up to at least 110 degrees, and to take care of pets and children in this extreme heat while enjoying the activities.

The Mesquite Community Theatre, 150 N Yucca Street, will be presenting Mesquite Kids on Stage Disney Review tonight at 3 and 7 p.m.

The 19th Hole at 550 S Eldorado Road will be hosting DJ Juan tonight, July 3, starting at 6 p.m.

Friday’s activities start early, with the Tea Party’s annual reading of the Declaration of Independence at the City Hall amphitheater, 10 E Mesquite Boulevard at 8 a.m.

The Mesquite Recreation Center at 100 W Old Mill Road is hosting some free outdoor pool fun beginning at 11 a.m. According to their press release, there will be snow cones, candy, face painting, snacks available for purchase as well as plenty of music and games for kids (and adults) of all ages to enjoy. The fun will go on until 2 p.m.

From the Rec Center, patrons are encouraged to go home and clean up and return to the Eureka Hotel & Casino, 275 Mesa Boulevard, for their Backyard BBQ that will be inside the Town Square Buffet from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. There will also be a Community Vendor Village and DJ music from 6 – 8 p.m. and a charity hot dog-eating contest at 7:15 p.m.

Shortly afterwards, the Nevada POPS Symphony will begin their free 75-minute concert at 8 p.m. which will accompany the Eureka’s annual fireworks show at 9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

For some over-21 looking for all-night fun, head over to the CasaBlanca, 950 W Mesquite Boulevard for a free special Spazmatics pool party. Doors open at 7 p.m.

More adult fun will be had even later in the evening, starting at 9 p.m. at ENVY Nightclub & Lounge, 792 W Pioneer Boulevard, and will surely continue through until dawn the next morning. According to their promotional materials, there will be a karaoke competition, DJ music, drink specials and games throughout the night, with no cover charge.
