Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 8 – 14, 2014.

 

June 8:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to maintain lane travel on I15 SB. One adult male was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failing to maintain lane travel.

Theft: An Officer responded to a hotel on W Mesquite Blvd reference a theft from a room.  A report was taken for the missing items.

Citizen Dispute: Officers responded to a citizen dispute on Sunvalley Dr. Upon arrival Officers spoke with two males subjects, the other male subject had left the scene, and was not located.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to a local intersection on E Pioneer Blvd, in reference to a minor traffic accident without injuries.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a citizen assist on Turtleback Rd with parents discussing parent time. Advised both parties it was a civil issue, there is no court action at this time.

Alarm: Officers responded to a residential alarm on Terraces Ct. All doors/windows accessing residence were secured. Alarm company unable to contact homeowner. Nothing further.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Police responded to a minor non-injury traffic accident on E Pioneer Blvd. A report was taken and one male adult driver was issued a traffic citation.

June 9:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a local neighborhood on Second South St where eggs had been thrown. Officer spoke with the complainant who stated none of the eggs landed on his property, they were only in the street. Extra patrol was requested and will be done.

Missing Person: Officers responded to a local residence on Tortuga Way, in reference to a missing adult female.  The missing person returned home a short while later.

Suicide: Officers responded to the report of a suicidal female on N Grapevine Rd.  Upon locating the female, she was not suicidal and was at work.

Keep The Peace: Officers responded to an apartment complex on Sunvalley Dr to keep the peace between managers and a tenant.

Civil Matter: Officer at the police department on Mayan Circle received a report of a possible theft of a motor vehicle. It was determined the statute of limitation had expired, and it was a civil issue. Complainant was advised to take suspect to civil court.

Theft: An Officer responded to the police department lobby reference a theft of a spare tire.  A report was taken.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a local apartment complex on Riverside Rd in reference to a disorderly person.

Welfare Check: Officer received a report of a missing adult female. Complainant was advised to contact appropriate jurisdiction, and this incident would be changed to a welfare check.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a domestic in progress on Riverside Rd.  Upon arrival officers located the victim. Officers gathered details about the physical altercation which occurred.  The suspect later turned himself in, and was taken into custody.

Fraud: Officer responded to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd on a credit card fraud. Written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to a local residence on W Hafen Ln in reference to a citizen assist.

Theft: Police responded to a theft at a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd. One adult female was arrested for petit larceny and trespassing and drug charges. The female will be transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

June 10:

Alarm: Officer responded to a local clubhouse on Pinnacle Ct on an alarm. Contact was made with an employee who stated the code was not entered quickly enough. Everything was okay at the facility.

Citizen Assist: Officers were dispatched to a local bank on W Mesquite Blvd, in reference to a citizen assist.

Mental Person: Officers responded to a local residence on Peartree Ln on a mental problem. The complainant was found to have a clean home, food, and was taking care of her self. The complainant also contacted her mental health doctor for an appointment.

Citizen Assist: Officer met with complainant regarding a money order scam. R/p was provided information to protect from future scams.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a report of a hit and run on private property on Colleen Ct.  A report was taken; the driver was located and cited.

Alarm: Officers responded to a local residence on Los Altos Circle on a residential alarm. Contact was made with the home owner, everything was okay, and they have been having problems with the alarm company. Nothing further.

Unknown Problem: Officers were dispatched to a local address on Rodeo Ln in reference to a 911 hang up call.

Hit & Run: Officer took a report of a hit and run on Pioneer Blvd. A written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving into a building on Hardy Way. Information was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police responded to a report of vandalism to a vehicle on Honeysuckle Ln. A report was taken for the incident.

File False Police Report: Police responded to a possible sexual assault at a motel on W Mesquite Blvd. A report was taken and is currently under investigation.

June 11:

Found Property: Officers were dispatch to a vacant residence on Joshua Dr, reference a found property. The property was booked into evidence.

June 12:

Recovered Stolen Property: Officer returned an item that had been previously stolen from Buckboard Trail.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a local restaurant on N Sandhill Blvd, reference a disorderly male, who had left the restaurant prior to the officers arrival. The male was later located and issued a citation for battery.

Theft: Officers responded to a store on W Pioneer Blvd in reference to a theft. This case is currently under investigation with three suspects involved.

June 13:

Wanted Person: Officers contacted three adult males on drinking alcohol in a city park on E Old Mill Rd. The officers warned the males for drinking in a park. One male had two active Mesquite Municipal Court warrants, and was arrested.

June 14:

Lost Property: Officer received a report of lost property by telephone on E Pioneer Blvd. Complainant was out of town, and will provide written statement when they return.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded and assisted a broken down vehicle on northbound I-15.

Civil Matter: An officer responded to the Mesquite Police Department, in reference to a citizen assist call.

Traffic Problem: An officer responded and cleared the intersection at Hillside Dr & N Sandhill Blvd of debris.

Parking Problem: An officer responded to a complaint of an RV parking problem in a neighborhood near Valley View Circle.

Citizen Assist: An officer was flagged down by a motorist for a citizen assist call on Hardy Way.

Suspicious/Vehicle: Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle parked at an RV park on W Mesquite Blvd.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers were dispatched to a local residence on Concord Dr in reference to a suspicious situation.

Unknown Problem: Officers responded to a residence on Jacaranda Way reference a 911 hang up.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local hotel on W Mesquite Blvd on a reported trespass violator.  Officers arrived and placed one adult male under arrest.
