Saturday may be the last time Mark Wier will make a public appearance in Mesquite as the community’s mayor.
Wier, on April 22, announced he was resigning effective May 12.
But Wier is scheduled to attend the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, 8-9:30 a.m., at Family Heritage Park, 100 North Arrowhead Lane. It’s part of the Mesquite Days celebration and scheduled immediately before the parade.
Although the event is funded by sponsors, donations are encouraged. Sponsors for the breakfast include: City of Mesquite Fire Department, Eureka Casino Resort, Greater Mesquite Arts Foundation, McDonalds, Mesa View Hospital, LDS Church, Walgreens, Have Boutique Will Travel, Peggy Pope, Anne Hunt, Diana Knight, Nellie Suarze, and Julie Stoltz.
