Harry

Harry

This week’s featured pet for We Care for Animals is Harry, a nice 11 months old grey and white feline. Harry is neutered, current on vaccines and micro chipped.  Unfortunately, Harry’s previous owner passed and Harry is in need of a new home.  Harry can be a tad shy initially but is a sweet and gentle guy.  He is a handsome and lovable cat who deserves a new start with a new family.

Other Adoptable Pets:

Felines:
Cooper is a love bug.  He is super friendly and affectionate and loves to be petted and brushed.  Cooper loves people and is fine with other cats.

Colada is about 11 months old and is Harry’s sister.  She has a gentle temperament and is most comfortable around adults and older children.  She has a deep gray coat and probably has some Russian Blue in her family.

Oreo is a big cat, about 11 years old.  She would love a quiet home where she can relax and be the only pet.
Pet Adoption:  WCFA will be at Petco in Washington, UT this Saturday,  May 17, with our adoptable cats.  Please come on by if you are in St. George this Saturday.  Because Animals Matter, a rescue from Hurricane, UT will be at Petco with their adoptable dogs.

Spay-Neuter Special for Pet Chihuahuas and Pit Bulls:  WCFA has a Spay-Neuter Special through May 31, 2014 for pet chihuahuas and pit bulls.  These two breeds are most often euthanized in shelters because of their numbers.  If you live in Mesquite, Bunkerville and the Arizona Strip and have a pet chihuahua or pit bull, we can help get your pet fixed.  (Income restrictions apply.)  Contact WCFA for our spay-neuter application or visit Mesquite Veterinary Clinic at 371 Riverside Drive or Virgin Valley Veterinary Hospital at 660 Hardy Way to pick up an application.

Kitten Season:  Kitten season is here and there just are not enough homes for them all.  If you are feeding stray or feral cats or have a cat that needs to be spay or neutered, we can help.  Please call WCFA at 702-346-3326 to leave your name, number and message or contact Linda at 702-376-1642.  Our project area is Mesquite, Bunkerville and the Arizona strip.

We Care for Animals is often confused with the Mesquite Animal Shelter.  WCFA is a small independent cat and dog rescue.  We do not have a facility and rely on dedicated foster families to provide a safe haven until our foster cats and dogs are adopted.  We often take in animals before they enter a shelter.  The number of  animals we can accept depends on  available fosters.  The Mesquite Animal Shelter is operated by the City of Mesquite Animal Control and the animals they have for adoption are not the same animals that WCFA has.  We work together to get animals adopted.

WCFA can be reached at 702-346-3326 (voicemail) regarding adoption, fostering, information regarding re-homing a pet and spay/neuter assistance for qualified pet owners.

WCFA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Monetary donations are always needed and can be made online at wecareforanimals.org or by mail at WCFA, P.O. Box 3028, Mesquite, NV 89024.  WCFA’s email address is wcfanv@gmail.com.  Visit our website at wecareforanimals.org.   Like us on Facebook at facebook.com/wecareforanimalsmesquitenv.
