Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for May 18 – 24, 2014.

 

May 18:

Found Property: An Officer responded to a gas station on W Mesquite Blvd reference found property. Four identifications and three credit cards were turned over to police.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a local residence on N Camellia Circle on a report of property damage. The damage was related to a previous incident the night before. A written statement was gathered and information will be forwarded to the initial officer.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd, in reference to a trespassing call. The officer issued one adult female a citation for unlawful trespassing and she was escorted of the property by security.

Mental Person: Officers responded to an adult female on Falcon St who depressed and looking for assistance.

Wanted Person: Officers were dispatched to a local residence on Partridge Ln, in reference to a person with a misdemeanor warrant.  Upon arrival, this subject fled from officers but was later arrested for the warrant and an obstruction charge.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd on a report of an abandoned cooler. The cooler was found empty, and the business removed it from the parking lot. Nothing further.

Person On Foot: Officer observed a pedestrian on E Pioneer Blvd & Mesa Blvd crossing against a red light and impeded traffic that had right of way on a green light. Subject was not impaired, and was warned for pedestrian failing to yield right of way.

Traffic Problem: Officer responded to a reported traffic hazard in the roadway on I15 SB and removed debris from shoulder of the road. Nothing further.

Stolen Property: Police responded to a theft of lawn decorations on Great Arch Ave. A report was taken and officers are attempting to locate the suspect(s).

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to a casino on W Mesquite Blvd for a minor gambling call. Adult/minor suspect was cited and released.

May 19:

Found Property: An Officer responded to an apartment complex on E First North St reference found property. The property was collected and a report taken.

Lost Property: An officer assisted a complainant on Pulsipher Ln with locating lost property.

Petit Larceny: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Sundial Ln, in reference to a petit larceny.

Graffiti: An Officer responded to a local address on Moss Dr reference graffiti.

Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a phone harassment call.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a local grocery store on N Sandhill Blvd in reference to a suspicious male.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to an adult female in the driver seat of her vehicle unconscious at a local business on N Sandhill Blvd. She was suspected of being under the influence of intoxicating liquor and or drugs.  After being medically cleared she was charged with driving under the influence (3+), and transferred to Clark County Detention Center.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the police department for a citizen assist call.

Fraud: Officer met with a complainant at the police department reporting fraudulent use of his credit card in another state. Complainant already was reimbursed by credit card company.

Hit & Run: Officer responded to a local business on W Mesquite Blvd on a report of a hit and run. A written statement was gathered from the victim, the business is checking surveillance, and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a local residence on Tortuga Way in reference to a small dent in his garage door, from an unknown event.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Received information about a fictitious facebook page.  Referral was reference an old incident out of LVMPD.  Facebook has removed the offending page.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a local residence on E First North St in reference to a domestic/family fight call.  It was later determined that the argument did not become physical.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspected impaired driver on N Grapevine Rd.  During their investigation it was determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest.

May 20:

Found Property: An Officer responded to a report of found property on Riverside Rd.

Theft: Officer responded to a local residence on a reported theft from a garage on Tortuga Way. A witness statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft from Vehicle: Mesquite citizen reported items stolen out of their vehicle. Detectives concluded they have been the victim of an on going investigation. Items have already been returned to them.

Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatched to a local casino on Mesa Blvd, in reference to a phone harassment call.

Citizen Assist: A father on Mesquite Springs Dr contacted Police because his 14 year old daughter would not turn over her phone when instructed to. Upon arrival Officers discover the parents are in the beginning process of a divorce.

Lost Property: Police responded to a report of missing property on N Sandhill Blvd. A report was taken and officers are attempting to locate the missing items.

May 21:

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a female on W Mesquite Blvd with an active Mesquite Municipal Court Warrant. The female was arrested without incident and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Theft: Officer took a report of theft of a ceramic type flower pot from Cracker Barrel Circle. Officers are currently attempting to locate the ceramic pot and the suspect involved with the theft.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a residence on Desert Dr, reference a domestic disturbance. It was reported the incident was physical between mother and son. Male subject was placed under arrest for domestic battery.

Burglary: An Officer responded to a residence on Madrigal Dr regarding a possible burglary.  The Officer gathered initial information from the complainant and began a burglary investigation report.  The investigation is ongoing.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer responded to a residence on Mountain Ridge in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation that was forwarded to detectives for follow-up.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer responded to a parking lot on Kitty Hawk Dr in reference to theft from a motor vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation that was turned over to investigations.

May 22:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a stop on a vehicle for a registration violation at Thompson Dr & Emperor Ln, and observed evidence of drug activity inside the vehicle. The adult male driver was issued citations for the registration violation, drug and paraphernalia possession, and was released with a court date.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Detectives arrested a male on W Old Mill Rd on previous felony related crime(s), which occurred within the City of Mesquite area.

Fighting: Officers responded to area of Riverside Road and Whitey Lee, for a report of a fight between two female juveniles. Information was gathered and a report taken. Follow up was completed with the guardians of the involved juveniles.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Lilac Ct who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers detected a drug odor while on patrol on W Mesquite Blvd. The officers located the source of the odor, and contacted an adult male. The male was issued a citation for possession of paraphernalia and released with a court date.

May 23:

Theft: Officer responded to a Turtle Cove residence to and took a theft report of items taken from the garage. Information was gathered and an investigation into the theft started.

Disorderly Conduct: An adult male on E Mesquite Blvd was arrested for misuse of 911, calling the emergency number a total of 8 times.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer responded to a residence on Cassia Ln in reference to a vehicle burglary. This case is related to an ongoing investigation and was forwarded to detectives for follow-up.

May 24:

Citizen Assist: Officer took a report of a disorderly male at a local grocery store on N Sandhill Blvd, which occurred in the early morning hours. The complainant requested a matter of record.

Agency Assistance: Officers were dispatched to residence on Shade Tree Ln, to assist with medical personal. It was reported a toddler had been injured and was un-responsive. The toddler was transported to the hospital and air lifted to Las Vegas for advance care.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a private property vehicle accident on E Pioneer Blvd. A report was taken, and a driver’s exchange form was completed and given to both vehicle owners.
