Highland Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mesquite was awarded the top Gold Medal for Southern Nevada on March 8 by the Nevada Health Care Association Perry Foundation “Endeavors”.
The association recognized the state’s top-performing health care facilities working in post-acute care with the event at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks for Northern Nevada recipients on March 1 and at the Silverton Casino Hotel in Las Vegas on March 8 for Southern Nevada facilities.
The Perry Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works with its members to improve the quality of care in Nevada’s post-acute care facilities, and provides education and enhanced training to its providers.
“Endeavors” recognition recipients in Southern Nevada included:
Gold – Highland Manor, 272 W Pioneer Blvd., Mesquite.
Silver – Silver Ridge Health Care Center, 1151 S. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas.
Bronze – Silver Hills Health Care Center, 3450 N. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas.
“Endeavors” recognition recipients in Northern Nevada included:
Gold – Renown Skilled Nursing, 1835 Oddie Blvd., Sparks.
Silver – Rosewood Rehabilitation Center, 2045 Silverada Blvd., Reno.
Bronze – Carson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 2898 U.S. 50, Carson City.
“The Perry Foundation promotes quality care by recognizing the top-performing members,” said Daniel Mathis, president and CEO. “At the same time, the foundation programs identify and help facilities that need it most, offering customized education and resources to improve performance.”
James Sullivan, administrator of Highland Manor, applauded the work of his entire treatment team for receiving the foundation’s highest standard.
“There is a partnership that involves all your team members, as well as your patients and their families in order to consistently achieve some of the highest quality measures in the state,” he said. “I am very proud of their extremely hard work to achieve this distinction. Highland Manor employees have set the standard in our industry for years so I am pleased to be able to accept this award on their behalf.”
Sullivan was presented the trophy by Dr. Tracey D. Green, State Health Officer, along with a Certificate of Commendation from Sen. Harry Reid. Diane Allen, R.N., of the Perry Foundation was also presenting at the ceremony and added: “The systems used in high performing nursing homes like Highland Manor of Mesquite are brought about by the leadership, by teamwork and communication and clinical care delivery that is evidence based and resident focused.”
