Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for April 20 – 26, 2014.

 

Disorderly Conduct: April 20 – Officers responded to a local casino on Mesa Blvd regarding an adult male who was asked to leave and wouldn’t. Contact was made with the male who was trespassed without further incident.

Trespassing: April 20 – An Officer was dispatched to a Laundromat on S Arrowhead Ln concerning a trespassed male. The Officer located the male, who had been trespassed from the business. The male was cited and released.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: April 20 – Officer responded to a local parking lot on W Pioneer Blvd for a report of property damage. A written statement was gathered from the complainant and the investigation is ongoing.

Trespassing: April 20 – An Officer responded to a grocery store on N Sandhill Blvd concerning a male patron.  The officer located the male, who was then trespassed from the store.

Trespassing: April 20 – Officers responded to a local casino on W Mesquite Blvd in reference to a trespass.

Phone Harassment: April 20 – Officers responded to a local residence on Cascade Ave to answer questions concerning harassment.

Identity Theft: April 21 – Officer received a report of an identity theft to activate a credit card. Information is being gathered from the victim and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: April 21 – An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a citizen assist.

Dead Body: April 21 – Officers responded to a hotel on N Sandhill Blvd to reference an unconscious female found in a room.  The female was deceased and the coroner responded to complete an investigation.

Missing Person: April 21 – An officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a missing person.

Traffic accident W/O injury: April 21 – An officer responded to a minor damage private property traffic collision on N Sandhill Blvd.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: April 21 – Officer responded to a traffic accident on private property on N Sandhill Blvd with no reported injuries. A driver’s exchange form was completed and provided to each driver.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: April 21 – An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a property damage incident.

Citizen Assist: April 21 – An Officer responded to answer questions about a possible theft.  A report was taken and all questions answered.

Controlled Substance Problem: April 21 – One white male adult inmate was found to have a small amount of heroin in his possession inside the Mesquite Detention Center on Hillside Dr.

Fraud: April 21 – Officers received a report of suspect(s) attempting to use stolen credit cards at a discount store. Suspect(s) were later arrested.

Traffic accident W/O injury: April 22 – Officer received a report of a traffic accident on private property that occurred the day before and complete information had not been exchanged. Officer tracked down all involved and a driver’s exchange form was completed.

Citizen Assist: April 22 – An Officer responded to Bertha Howe Ave to answer questions about temporary protection orders.  All questions were answered.

Intoxicated Person: April 23 – Intoxicated subject sleeping half on sidewalk and roadway on E Old Mill Rd. Subject was arrested for intoxicated pedestrian.

Lost Property: April 23 – A female requested to file a report of lost or stolen property on Mesa Blvd. The female was unsure if the documents she is reporting were misplaced or stolen.

Trespassing: April 23 – Officer responded to a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd, reference a trespass violator.  Upon arrival officer issued an adult male a citation for trespass violation.

Assault/Battery: April 23 – Officers spoke with a male juvenile on W Pioneer Blvd who had been battered by a adult male. Upon speaking with the victim parents they refused to pursue criminal charges against the male adult.

Controlled Substance Problem: April 23 – An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, nor the single occupant, had a valid driver’s license. Illegal drugs were located in the vehicle. Both occupants were arrested on the aforementioned charges.

Wanted Person: April 24 – Officer made contact with a male on Woodbury Ln with two (2) active felony warrants out of Nevada. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Citizen Assist: April 24 – Female on Jackrabbit St requested an on going event be a matter of record. Female has been receiving unwanted text messages from another female.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: April 24 – Officers responded to a house on Rodeo Ln in reference to an open garage door. After investigation, the house was secure and nothing appeared to be out of place. Officers documented the incident, but have no contact information for the owners, who live in Utah.

Controlled Substance Problem: April 24 – An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on N Sandhill Blvd. Officers later located marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was cited and released for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Domestic Trouble: April 25 – Officers responded to Mesa Blvd for a domestic fight that just occurred between a mother and her adult son. After investigation, it was determined both parties were aggressors in an assault on one another. Both parties were cited for domestic battery.

Driving Under the Influence: April 25 – Officers conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at W Mesquite Blvd & Desert Rose Way. The adult male driver was intoxicated, and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Fraud: April 26 – Police responded to a male subject reporting credit card fraud. R/p requested an event number to provide to his local bank. The alleged incident occurred out of state.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: April 26 – Police responded to a two vehicle non injury accident on E Mesquite Blvd. A report was taken and citation issued. An exchange of information form was completed with both drivers receiving a copy.

Trespassing: April 26 – Officers responded to a residence on Raven Way reference a report of a trespass violator. The adult male suspect had been previously been trespassed from the property, and he was on property when officers arrived. The adult male was arrested for trespassing.

Controlled Substance Problem: April 26 – Officers cited and released a male subject on Mesa Blvd for drug paraphernalia.

Animal Pickup: April 26 – An officer responded to a residence on Quail Run to pick-up two puppies found running loose on the road. The puppies were transported to the Animal Shelter until the owner can be located.

Agency Assistance: April 26 – An Officer was dispatched to assist another agency with a canine drug sniff of a vehicle on I15 NB.  The officer conducted the canine drug sniff, and then cleared the scene when his assistance was no longer needed.

Lost Property: April 26 – An officer responded to a hotel on Mesa Blvd reference lost property. The officer documented the lost items, and an officer’s report was completed.

Controlled Substance Problem: April 26 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of E First North St & N Sandhill Blvd on a vehicle for an equipment violation. Officers conducted a consensual search of the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia. The adult female driver was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
