The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and the Mesquite Regional Business, Inc., are jointly hosting the Mesquite Business Summit on Thursday, Nov. 7, 5:30-8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express meeting room, 1030 W. Pioneer Blvd.

Tom Skancke, Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance CEO, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker followed by a panel of local experts representing Mesquite’s economic drivers. The cost to attend is $15 for early reservation and $20 after Nov. 1.

Hors d’oeuvres are to be served and early reservations are suggested as seated is limited.

This joint venture is to inform the business community what is on the horizon for the Mesquite region and Southern Nevada, according to Vicky Walter, chamber president and CEO.

“Tom Skancke is a highly sought-after public speaker whose comments have appeared on CNN’s ‘The Situation Room,’ ‘Fox News Sunday’ and in the Washington-based policy publication The Hill,” Walter said. “He has testified before several U.S. Senate and House committees, presented to dozens of professional groups, chambers of commerce, state commissions and conferences. Tom recognizes that economic activity depends on interactions, and interactions are supported by infrastructure, so his background gives him a unique perspective on the economic development community.”

The panel will follow the keynote speaker and will be discussing topics such as recreational  tourism, gaming, residential housing and healthcare. A question-and-answer time will be open to the attendees.

Due to limited seating, early reservations are suggested. Call the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce to make your reservations.
