UTi Transport Solutions is a leading third-party logistics provider with customized value-added transportation solutions for clients and carriers of all sizes. UTi also prides itself on its commitment to cutting-edge technology which allows clients and carriers to successfully manage their transportation business. As a publicly-traded company with an enviable credit rating and a TIA P3 $250,000 member that’s been in business since 1977, UTi Transport Solutions delivers a level of personalized service seldom seen in the transportation industry.

John Weber, Dull Knife Owner, said that Mesquite is the perfect location for his business expansion because of its location on Interstate 15. The convenient location gives his company ready access on Interstate 15 between the west coast and points east. The company has leased space in Heritage Plaza and will begin operations in mid-September. Weber will initially begin with two (2) employees, who will immediately begin connecting freight loads in various locations with transportation providers. Over time, he plans to expand operations similar to his facility in Wyoming.

Weber’s facility in Buffalo, WY employs sixteen (16) and he says that he expects the Mesquite business to grow quickly as UTi’s capabilities become known and he added, “We are confident we can find a good labor pool here in Mesquite because we hope to hire mature, experienced workers who have a strong work ethic and a good sense of customer service.”

Mike Verdone, Mesquite General Manager, and his wife Gina, recently moved to Mesquite to open the office at Heritage plaza. Mike has extensive sales experience in his background, and trained at Mr. Weber’s Wyoming office. Gina previously worked in the Wyoming office for three (3) years. They are both looking forward to getting the Mesquite operations up and running.

George Gault, Chair of MRB, stated “John’s business is ideal for Mesquite. It’s a small company with potential to grow, but most importantly, it will bring in money from outside the area in return for the services it provides.”

Weber shared, “We were able to go online to obtain our state business license then meet with Laura Woolsey, City of Mesquite, to obtain our City business license. Ms. Woolsey’s professionalism and knowledge of the process was outstanding.”

The knowledge and services offered by MRB made his decision to locate in Mesquite an easy one. “Expanding a business is not the easiest thing to accomplish,” Weber said. “But when you surround yourself with people and services created to help, it is a value that can’t be measured.”
